NABUCCO (Opera in 4 acts - Music by G. Verdi - Libretto by T. Solera)

Verdi's third opera Nabucco owes is reputation to the famous chorus "Va pensiero", sung in the third act by the Hebrew people, who long for their homeland after being exiled by the Babylonian king Nabucco. The opera, inspired by the Old Testament, was an immediate success when performed for the first time in 1842 at the theatre La Scala in Milan and established permanently Verdis reputation as a composer.
